Segmented woodturning in a Southwestern theme
I have always loved making things and always had a wood project going. It used to be a furniture projects and now since 2009 I have been doing segmented turning. I start out with a general size and shape then search for a Native American symbol or design to anchor the piece. I then designs the rings and there sizes to complete the entire vessel.     My past experience working for an aerospace manufacture has aided me in the ability to use precision measuring devices to accurately cut and measure the segments. I use the grain matching technique in cutting segments to make a flowing continuous presentation of grain instead of the choppy gain pattern presented when cutting segments the economy method.
