Kbees Wood Art
Segmented woodturning in a Southwestern theme

Welcome

   to my website
I no longer produce my southwestern vessels. Although I thought they were some of the best out there I guess they weren’t. Too many shows not selling any. Art galleries not selling by pushing them in a dark conner. Making them was easy selling them was too hard. My designs are all influenced by Native American symbols with a strong southwest theme. I have always loved the look of wood and found that by keeping the segments in the order they are cut and keeping this order when gluing up the rings, the overall look is enhanced with less discontinuity from segment to segment. I embed symbols into the segments to project the continuity of the grain pattern, so the visual image will be that the wood or stone was just dropped in. Most of my vessel shapes are a combination of modern and Native American design.
